Area Sales Manager

Role Scope: – The role is a senior leadership role. The incumbent is responsible for delivering sales
targets for the distributor and building sales organization capability. Depending on the business
size, appropriate number of sales executives might report to this role.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Owns the sales targets for the business
  • Owns the relationship with salon customers
  • Executing new initiatives and launches
  • Resolution of escalated issues and handling objections of customers not resolved by team
  • Managing the team of sales executives
  • Coach and guide sales executives to build long term capability
  • Owns the people systems for sales executives – recruitment, salary planning, rewards, training, attrition management, etc.

Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Multi-function and collaborative approach
  • People management experience (minimum 3-4 years)
  • Technical skills – base sales fundamentals, business fundamentals.
  • Geographical Knowledge – Bigger territory handling experience.
  • Graduate with 10-12 years of experience; MBA preferred
  • Attributes Check: Key Account Management Skills/Team Building/Customer-oriented skills/Distributor handling
  • Professional/FMCG/Pharma or similar industry
